The hosts wanted something warm and easy, without putting up a tree. A rolling bar cart in the living room became the focus, with flocked trees at one end and candles in glass on the shelf.

We kept the food simple and let a long walnut board do the work. Guests gathered around the cart. By the end of the night, it was the only place in the room with people.
